The course shall comprise 10 months of academic training, followed by a compulsory internship of 2 months at the same institution in which the candidate is undergoing the course, after successful completion of the examination.
The Diploma in Ayurveda Nursing is a specialised programme designed to equip qualified nursing professionals with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in Ayurvedic healthcare by integrating traditional principles with modem nursing practices. The curriculum is structured into modules covering fundamental and applied aspects of Ayurveda, including basic concepts, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, Swasthavrutha (preventive care), Aturavrutha (clinical care), Panchakarma therapies, and Keraleeya Visesha Chikitsa, along with nursing management and health programmes. It provides in-depth understanding of topics including Tridosha, Dhatus, Srotas, drug identification, collection, standardisation, pharmacognosy, formulation techniques, quality control, and safe dispensing practices. The Diploma in Ayurveda Therapy is a comprehensive training programme under the healthcare sector aimed at developing skilled Ayurveda therapists and Panchakarma therapy assistants with both theoretical knowledge and strong practical competencies. The curriculum is structured into six papers and twenty modules covering core areas such as the history and basic principles of Ayurveda, human anatomy and physiology (Sareera Vijnana), Ayurvedic drugs and formulations, Panchakarma and its preparatory procedures, Keraleeya Vishesha Chikitsa. Kriyakalpa, yoga, and physiotherapy.
